Focus overview is Relatable’s place to zoom out and see what occupies you, based on what you have written down. It builds an overview with a summary, themes, and threads of ambition, exploration, and friction — with links back to the concrete notes. It is not a place to write more, but a place to get overview when there is a lot to keep track of.
Why this container matters psychologically
When a lot has been written down, it is easy to lose overview of what actually occupies you. We try to keep it in our head, or put off reading through everything. A focus overview gives distance: it makes visible what is pulling, standing still, or starting to grow — without you having to go through the whole catalog again. It is psychologically relieving to see direction in what you have already captured, and to be able to return to earlier overviews when the picture has changed.
What happens without a container like this
Without a place like this, overview remains something we try to hold ourselves — or something we put off. What we have written piles up without it becoming clear what hangs together, and we compensate with vague pressure to “tidy” or “choose a direction” without a gathered picture. Then we lose hold of what is actually in motion in what we have already written.
